A tax appeal is an essential element of management, handling and success of any property. Local professional counsel should be sought and retained for the purpose of filing these appeals. In this author’s opinion, this tax appeal process, in whatever state the property is situated, requires the guidance of a local lawyer familiar with that state’s procedure to guide and advise the real estate investor, developer, etc. through the process. It is a process which must be undertaken for any successful real estate operation.
